Have you watched the famous animated Disney movie “UP“? If not yet, then go and grab your popcorn now because we will discuss the lead character of this movie. That is Mr. Frederickson. Mr. Frederickson was an old helium balloon salesman. He was the lover of her deceased wife, Ellie Frederickson. He got upset, lonely, and cranky after the death of his wife.
EARLY LIFE OF MR. FREDRICKSEN
This movie is based on the childhood, adulthood life of Mr. Frederickson. He was a happy, shy, quiet nerd with a square vast black spectacle and a square face as a child. He was inspired by a well-known explorer Charles F. Mentz. His name was Carl Frederickson. He was the friend of Ellie Frederickson from his childhood.
Ellie was a genius, intelligent, tomboy from her childhood. She was also a great fan of Mentz. She once told Carl that she wanted to move her clubhouse. The clubhouse was located in the neighborhood of Ellie; it was an abandoned house. Ellie had this dream of flying the club to the cliff surrounded by paradise falls.
They decided to get married when they reached their youth. Both of them renovated an old house with woods and other decoration pieces. They grew old together in that house by supporting themselves with the zookeeper job, balloon seller in a zoo.
ROLE OF MR. FREDRICKSEN IN “UP”
The movie “UP” indicates the scene of the house flying away with the help of balloons. Here is how it happened. After a few years of marriage, the couple realized that they could not have any kids as Ellie was infertile. But Mr Frederickson supported her in every way, and they started to save money for their trip to paradise falls. Eventually, the money kept on spending on different needs of life.
Unfortunately, Ellie died of an illness in her old age and left Mr. Frederickson alone. There was construction work going near Mr. Frederickson’s house, to which he vehemently denied emptying his house. Once, he confronted a worker when they broke his mailbox outside the house. Court ordered Mr. Frederickson to leave the house and shift into the Shady Oaks retirement home.
FREDRICKSEN KEPT HIS PROMISE TO ELLIE
Mr. Frederickson had a plan better than to move into the retirement home. He decided to make his house an airship by using 10,000 helium balloons to lift and carry his house. His Co passenger was a junior scout named Russel who came to ask for aid for a foundation and sneak in the house.
The balloons helped the place to take off and fly smoothly. The house bore a thunderstorm and successfully landed on the cliff’s edge beside the paradise falls. That is how Mr. Frederickson kept his promise and made the dream of Ellie come true because he loved and missed her so much.
CONCLUSION
Mr. Frederickson became sad, cranky, and bitter after Ellie’s death. He missed Ellie very much. Time passed by, and Carl restrained himself to his house only. By the cliff of paradise fall, he found his peace again.
